There’s a time and a place for everything and Motorsport culture adheres to that model very strictly. On the track, not the highway, for some dirt or weather makes the scene. The draw of North America’s biggest endurance race is definitely the time, all 24 hours of it, but it’s a particular selection of that time that keeps our attention for hours and hours. Once the sun sets, the night racing at Daytona creates a whole new track. This setting is an entirely new aura from the race going on a few hours before. That’s where “the place” comes in. Sure, there are tons of places to witness night racing at the speedway but after a few years of scouting, the place to be for the dark times in Daytona is way up high in the stands. Here you can watch the lights trail around the high banks, or right on the fences in the would famous horseshoe. Daytona Rising is still well, “rising”, so the stands weren’t really an option for this weekend, but the “Roar Before” gave us a little taste of the rewards waiting for you after hours. This is what it’s all about.
